Hello my loving friend and mentor…

I’m sorry that this happened to you – but I think we both know it’s for the greater good. I’ve always had bad feelings about Steve, and I’ve voiced them to you! He is a drain, emotionally, spiritually, and (apparently) financially.. I am so happy for you, because you now have room to grow and become more, free of the slack, manipulation, and illegitimacy.

I love you brotha. I know that we will build things which make Manifest Mastermind seem like a speck of dust in comparison.

Love,
Russell

Dear Brian!

I appreciate your frank disclosure of these events. Open honesty is always something to treasure and to maintain. I applaud you for your frankness in this matter. This has indeed provided a lesion for all of us and it is good that you set an example by rising above recrimination to share the greater lesson. Our internet community can exist only if we are first of all honest and true with each other in every way.

I appreciate your honesty and truth in sharing both information and products. I greatly appreciate working with you and learning from you as I do presently in your social media course. You are a great teacher because of your honesty and frankness and also a great person because you uphold these qualities above all temptation to the contrary.

None of us will ultimately succeed without sharing the goal of providing “the greatest possible good for the greatest number of people.”

Thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do for this community.

Aloha and Namaste!

Doug

Sorry that happened to you. But I do believe things happen for a reason. I also believe that will come around to your partner. it is difficult to want to support anyone who would so blatantly allow greed rule their humanity.

I’d like to thank Russell, Doug and Tracey for their comments. This was not an easy blog post to write, but since I’m committed to helping others learn from my experience, I guess it all works together for good :)

I appreciate the supportive words and now that I’ve shared the experience I can release this and move forward.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for writing this tough post. Life’s lessons are tough lessons. How you respond to them will build your character. Find a new gameplan, hopefully in the spiritually minded arena! Especially if this is what you are drawn to.

I have full faith you will rebound and quickly! You are a sharp guy with a great attitude and future!

Sending you blessings of support!

Hi Brian

I appreciate you taking the time to write this post – although I know it was extremely tough for you to write. Unfortunately, this things happen and your post is a great reminder to everyone to make sure they are doing business properly.

The Universe never closes a door without opening another one. I can’t wait to see what great comes to you as a result of all of this.

Dear Brian,
I am very sorry this happened to you. It’s so easy to trust others because we want to see the good in people. It’s been my general tendency to trust and take people for their word. The problems that have surfaced for me have not only been being directly burned but also problems related to interpretation of what was agreed upon. Given my corporate background and the fact I’ve been heavily involved in contracts with multi-million dollar OEM deals and purchases, you’d think I’d err on the side of caution. Maybe it’s the fear of conflict rising its head.

When we get into spiritual communities, we tend to be even more trusting but, as you’ve taught us with this lesson (sometime I’ll need to share with you some of the issues down at the Monroe Institute regarding hemi-sync, licensing, personality conflicts, etc.).

You were one of my first 20 facebook friends and I’ve always valued our friendship and the guidance you’ve given to me, which is why it’s painful to me to see you hurt but I do appreciate your using this experience as a lesson to share with us. I really don’t know Steve well enough to say anything bad or good about him but I have learned that you are a person I value and enjoy having as a friend. What is interesting though is that I have not been drawn to MM over the past few months as I was in the earlier days. Perhaps there was an energy or intuition that was at play.

Good luck Brian and I will continue to support you,
Paul

Dear Brian: It happened to me a long time ago…I didnt have it in writing either and i spent a year on a IT site and I had no option but to walk away…we live and learn….Interestingly I too had my suspicions about steve, I was double paying because of an error and i asked for him to refund the mistake, he got nasty with me very quickly, when he failed to respond and I threatened to sue..all he had to do was simply give me back my lost money…a man who is all about manifestation should not have been afraid to give back 30 dollars!!! i knew then it was all not good..and i noticed that the content was rubbish…i will not cancel…sad but typical story of being not being true to their word….Good luck in what you do next keep me updated.

You have the skills to come through this a better person. Many would come through this experience with a nasty chip on their shoulder. Thank God there’s a better way.

Hi Brian,

Everything happens for a reason.

If you have a written agreement right from the start, you will not be able to know the type of person Steve was. And by the time you found out the truth, it might be too late and too damaging to recover from!

Therefore, I believe what you gained from this experience definitely worth much more than what you have lost!

So it may not be a bad thing that you did not have a written agreement after all ya?

Cheers!

Warmest regards,
Albert Lee

This happened to me once also. The biggest lesson I got from it was to look at how law of attraction was at work with all that happened.

I was able to look at cleaning up my vibration around a few subjects, as a result.

Very powerful lesson I am now very appreciative of.

I know how you feel. I had this happen to me when a personal relationship ended a fairly thriving business one. Never had the heart to restart it let alone the start up costs (starting from nothing 15 years later just not a fun proposition).

But I’ve moved on and am more successful today. I firmly believe everything we experience in our lives – good and bad – makes us who we are. And I’ve learned a lot of lessons along the way.

Thank you, Brian, for sharing your story and your heart. Your lesson is one for all of us — standing in integrity, transparency and being in full agreement in our relationships, and picking yourself up & realizing this is a blip in the road to learn from and grow from.

I’ve always valued your mentorship and your friendship. Continue to shine the light that you are. We all grow together when we share the truth of who we are. Thank you for your courage in posting this blog.

Brian – I applaud your courage and your conviction. What a powerful lesson for you and bless you for sharing it with us so that we may learn from it too.
I must say that I was excited when I first received your invitation about ManifestMastermind back in January and signed up right away, but did not become a paying member. Then I saw a video that Steve had made. I was even less inclined then. Just something wasn’t sitting right. I knew you were partners but I only saw him and heard from him. He promised things that never materialized. At this, I chose not to participate. Now I know why.
No accidents. Karma is a beautiful thing and the Universe knows. Just take what you’ve learned and move forward.
Wishing you the brightest of blessings and looking forward to more from you.

Hi Brian

I am so sorry this has happened to you and i completely know how you feel as I have been in the same position. Me and my ex business partner started a couple of businesses together. To cut along story short he kicked me out even though he owes me £17000 and my family £2500. I am in the process of trying to recover this money. I am shocked this has happened to you as Steve is supposed to be ‘Spiritual’. My ex partner isnt. Anyway I had to go through that pain and hell to get to where i am now which is heaven in comparison.

I would now like to cancel my subscription to MM but cant find how to do this. Can you do so please?

I must say that i got poor customer service from MM. I couldnt access some content from the site and twice asked MM for help. No response. I am a sales consultant and business man. I would never treat my customers like that!

Please come back to me as to how to cancel my subscription as refuse to fund scoundrels any more!

Thanks

Sandy

Hi Brian,

Thank you for reminding me of the importance of written contracts. I am just getting started with my new businesses and this is something I’ve intuitively felt was very important, especially in this day and age of joint ventures.

So, doing business with someone who is not honest, is definitely the contrast to what we are all wanting. I believe when we put something out in the universe that is not in alignment with good thoughts and intentions, there’s an energy that will match it the same(Law of Attraction). Steve will get his turn to learn his lessons. The best thing we can do to grow from something like this is to let it go and not take it personally, freeing up our energy to continue to create mastermind activity. We are all here to teach each other in this big classroom called Earth and Life. Thank him, without this experience, your life would be different and it could have happened on an even bigger scale. He’s offered growth and lessons to you that you can help many others with. How awesome is that? You will be blessed for it. He cannot steal your inner being and Divine guidance which will continue to attract prosperity and abundance to you. But he can block the flow of that, if you allow him to with your thoughts about the situation.

I wish you peace. He could use prayers. He will have a challenging road ahead of him and his reputation will suffer from this. Cause/Effect

Focus only on what you want. Hawaii must be incredible. I’ve never been but I do desire to go. Send him light and healing, it will come back to you a hundredfold.

Many Blessings,
Nicole

Hello Brian;
You are a perfect mouthpiece for the Buddhist concept of Cause & Effect. Thank you for being so deliberately TRANSPARENT. This allows people to see you as HUMAN–which is enchantingly Attractive. The laws of the Universe are working with you–and luckily this was a small mistake–only a few thousand dollars and some hours at the computer—So worth the amazing lesson you GOT! :-D I wish you continued success & Congratulations–YOU can only go UP from here. B R A V O Brian… Cheers, Untl we meet again..Daphne :-D

Even having a legal contract does not mean you won’t get screwed. I had a fully legal agreement with Kerry Murdock of PracticalEcommerce.com – a magazine I founded and sold to Kerry. Payment was agreed to be over several months to help Kerry afford the purchase. After everything was transferred over, and I had written 80% of the first issue and part of the second, Kerry decided not to pay the final two payments. He at least was honest enough to tell me that, even though we had an agreement, he was simply not going to honor it. I was out $8,000.

I consulted an attorney, and, since Murdock is in Colorado and I am in Indiana, the attorney said that, while I would surely win, my expenses would be higher than the settlement and I probably would not get awarded an expense reimbursement.

So, my lesson was to not depend on even legal agreements, but to hold on to assets in such a way as to protect my interests. I also will always make the county of governing law be MY county, and be willing to walk away if I don’t get things the way I want. When you sign an agreement, consider whether you would be willing to sue over it if things go bad.

By the way, Kerry even deleted all references to my name from the site, reassigned my writing to other “authors,” screwing me out of writing credit to put into my portfolio. Fortunately, I had PDF copies of the magazines and could put those into my portfolio (http://www.chucklasker.com/portfolio/).

Brian,

The Bible says faith (the law of attraction) works through Love, and that has always been your vision, your heart, and your practice.

Bastardized versions of LOA may work to some extent, but they amount to selfish ambition and manipulation. They also sow the seeds of their own destruction because God is Love, and using His creative power for anything else can not prosper for long..

You know how sorry I am you lost time and money, but I’m elated you got out before things got worse. Thanks for your amazing openness. I know much greater things are on their way, and you will have tremendous support. I look forward to working side by side with you.

Loving Lavishly,

Dean

Ug. I too once shared a domain with someone, who registered it in her name. A year later she wanted out and wanted to sell me her half. GRRRRRRRRR. I let it go. Thankfully I was able to retain all ad copy that was mine. So, please know you are not alone :)

Chuck,
You make a good point. Whenever I write a contract, I always add a clause regarding jurisdiction and the laws of my state apply. I also add disputes initially go to arbitration.
However, the issue of collecting damages still remains so recourse is further complicated, particularly when the distance is factored into the equation.
Still, it’s unfortunate that so many people do not realize that if they put the energy they used for deception into positive deeds, they would be so much better off in both this life and the next. Who knows how many of their future incarnations will be spent repairing karmic damages from this one.
Love and Roses on your Windshield,
Paul

Dear Brian,
with gratitude, appreciation, and love I’m just reading this post. Catching up on a month’s worth of posts on FB, I am remembering that I followed my first instinct when this group was formed, and it definitely felt more like, “let me take your money”, and a lot of ego……perhaps Steve’s Karma and energy were overshadowing.

As others have stated, a somewhat painful lesson but short lived and minimal damage. The blessing is you didn’t have to pay an attorney thousands of dollars to clean up the mess :-)

I am grateful that you have re-iterated a lesson for many, about doing business w/out a contract.. I have struggled w/the “vulture” nature of social media marketing with my own business, and have had a few painful personal lessons, fortunately small. But there are SO many entrpreneurs that it is ALL about the money…and they use a lot of smoke and mirrors trying to make it otherwise.

You will move gracefully into something new and I see you being clear and free from any negative influences, all power is yours to vitalize your life, experience success, and to bless others.
Thank You Brian for exposing Steve’s lack of integrity.

Peace and LIght,
Martha

Unfortunate for me, that I did not read this before I made the same mistake of getting into a partnership without a written agreement.
This has been a good lesson and I now feel so much better knowing that I was not alone. After reading everyones comments I totally agree that we must move on and focus our energy on more positive things.
All the best to you in your future endeavors!
