Facebook is my #1 favorite social networking website. I have done so well with facebook that it took me many months to even look at another social media website. I suggest that you start with facebook and dedicate more time to mastering it than the other social websites.
Many marketers are exclusively focused on twitter right now and forget about facebook. Facebook has it’s own rules and you can get banned if you don’t follow them. I’ve taught thousands of people how to use facebook. The rules I teach work and will help you to use facebook properly.
Here’s the basic facebook strategy in 5 simple steps. You don’t want to do too much at once, or you get banned. Doing a little bit at a time adds up quickly.
Make Friends: Do keyword searches and find people, groups, pages, and events that have the people that are looking for what your niche is offering. Send a friend request to 30 (maximum) people per day who have profiles that use your keywords. Don’t send more than 30 friend requests in a day. You may get away with this a few times, but will run the risk of getting banned.
Join Discussions: Look at the notes your friends are writing. Look at the comments people leave on group walls. Look at the discussion threads in groups, pages, or events. Create your own discussion topics and respond to other people’s questions.
Form a Group: After you have 500 friends, form a group. Keep the group’s purpose in alignment with your keyword list. Invite your 500 friends, and invite all new friends to your group.
Share: When you see something you like on facebook, hit the “Share” button. You may think that you’re just helping someone else, and you are. You’ll receive more benefits by doing this because facebook will reward you for hitting share. This may seem counter-intuitive to you, but if you “share” good stuff – you will attract more people to you. Keep this in balance by sharing your own content.
Add Photos & Videos: Photos and Videos are the most viral pieces of content on facebook. If you upload your own photo and video content, you will receive more attention. Most people do not take the time to do this, so it gives you an advantage.
This may seem simple. Follow these 5 steps and you’ll experience a growing network of people who are attracted to you that you’ll be able to funnel into your business as highly qualified prospects.

I love Facebook so much better than any other site. It easier to make good friends there than on any other site. Yesterday I began thinking about a gardening group (a passion), so I posted the idea in my status. Many of my friends are encouraging me to and giving me ideas. Today I posted a possible name for group in status. And now my friends are helping me choose a name. Thanks Brian for teaching me about facebook.
